Masyarakat Cina dikhianati DAP | Merdeka Online

Not true 50000 workers facing retrenchment – Mustapa

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of International Trade and Industry has denied claims that 50,000 workers will lose their jobs in 2018 primarily due to the rising cost of doing business.

Its minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed today said the ministry views most of those retrenched workers will be reemployed by new and expanding businesses and that the total number of retrenchments this year may not be as high as claimed.

According to Mustapa, most workers who have been retrenched were rehired by new and existing companies as they expand to meet increasing demand.

He also said that a large percentage of the retrenched workers from companies such as Seagate, Hitachi Global Storage Technology and Rubicon in Pulau Pinang were rehired by other expanding firms such as Keysight, Inari, HP, Osram and Infineon.

The three-year period between 2014 and 2016, new manufacturing projects implemented have created over 153,000 jobs, said Mustapa.

An additional 32,700 jobs in the manufacturing sector will be created from the investment secured in the period of Jan to Sept 2017.

A number of new investments and expansion undertaken by companies last year such as Broadcom and Osram in Penang, Konica Minolta in Melaka, Infineon in Kedah, Roland and IKEA in Selangor, as well as BMW in Johor, among others, have created more job opportunities in the country.

Oil and gas companies are also starting to hire again, especially in the upstream and offshore businesses as they seek to capitalise on the new found high oil price in recent times.

Duterte mahu gandakan gaji guru Filipina

‘DAP HAS BETRAYED CHINESE COMMUNITY BY PICKING DR M’

TI LIAN KER

MO,9/1/2018, -AFTER decades of lying to the Chinese community about a racist Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and accusing MCA of compromising the Chinese community, the DAP has committed the ultimate betrayal of the Chinese. This is by agreeing to make Dr Mahathir the prime minister again, said MCA Religious Harmony Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker.

“Because of its greed for power and desire to be in Putrajaya, the DAP has conveniently chosen to forget its principles and promises made to the people, especially to the Chinese community. “However, they should not treat supporters and sympathisers like political zombies,” he said yesterday.

Ti said Malaysians from different generations could not trust Dr Mahathir to be in power again. This was due to incidents such as Dr Mahathir being responsible for the downfall of the first prime minister Tunku Abdul Rahman, who had stood by the secular nature of Malaysia’s Constitution and who had recognised the rights of the various races, post independence.

He said Dr Mahathir also outmanoeuvred and forced out two moderate prime ministers — Tun Hussein Onn and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Ti said Dr Mahathir was the adviser of Perkasa, an extreme right wing organisation. Many of its leaders had since joined Dr Mahathir’s Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).

“This is the reason why DAP has toned down its attacks and is silent in its criticism of Perkasa since it embraced Dr Mahathir. “This shows DAP was lying when it said it was opposing MCA for working with a racebased party like Umno . “However it was under Dr Mahathir that Umno became more Malay centric,” Ti said. He said going by past record, Dr Mahathir would never honour any agreement made prior to the 14th General Election (GE14).

“(DAP supremo Lim) Kit Siang must be dreaming if he thinks that Dr Mahathir will honour agreements made prior to GE14. “As Lim has said in the past, Dr Mahathir has betrayed and deceived the Chinese community by agreeing to the Suqiu’s (Federation of Chinese Organisations) demands for National Harmony before the 1999 general election. But after he won the election, he went back on his word and branded those who pushed and supported Suqiu as communists, extremists and ingrates.”

Ti said DAP had also betrayed the people of Sabah by supporting the architect of Project IC to be prime minister again. “After the royal commission of inquiry on Project IC, Dr Mahathir admitted that he was responsible and defended his action, claiming that there was nothing wrong in giving citizenship to hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants.

“Dr Mahathir and (then deputy prime minister Datuk Seri) Anwar (Ibrahim) had promised the people of Sabah that there would be a rotation of the three major ethnic population to be their chief minister. “This promise was again reneged.”

Ti said after three decades of misleading their supporters and sympathisers with different stories and promises, DAP must be dreaming to think that their lies and sincerity would go unpunished by the Chinese voters this time around. “Maybe they are hoping to get away with their lies with new voters, who are aware and alert, to what is happening.”
