Things to Never Say Over Text or Email

Anything that requires in-depth discussion

Aside from the fact that no one enjoys read long, novel-length emails, it’s not a very good use of your time or the person at the other end of the screen’s time. If this is a workplace conversation, send an email that invites a recipient to a meeting to discuss the issue at hand, suggests Rachel Wagner, licensed corporate etiquette consultant. “Include an attached agenda of items to be discussed so attendees can come prepared with thoughts and ideas to brainstorm,” she says. “Have a specific start and stop time and, if the meeting requires additional time, plan a follow-up meeting.” This is respectful to all schedules involved and allows for a focused and efficient use of everyone’s time, she adds. Here are other rules of email etiquette you must follow.

Fighting with your partner

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

If you’ve been together a while, and especially if you live together, it’s common to fight through any means of communication you use. But experts warn against text or email arguing. “It’s impossible to read tone and see body language over a message, so it’s too tempting to read the worst into your partner’s typed words,” says Jonathan Bennett, certified counselor in the Columbus, Ohio area and owner of The Popular Man. “It’s easier to sling insults behind a screen than when you’re looking your partner in the eye.” If your partner insists on arguing over message, let him or her know you’d prefer to address it in person. Find out the seven things happy couples do when they fight.

Anything negative or sarcastic

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Remember that once an email is sent, it can be resurfaced at any time. “Even if you later regret sending that gossipy email and decide to delete it from your ‘sent’ email and even from your ‘trash,’ most companies have sophisticated software that can retrieve even deleted emails,” explains Wagner. And those emails can also be used legally in court. For these reasons, she suggests confronting these issues face-to-face where there’s no paper trail that can follow you forever. “This conveys professionalism and shows your willingness to have those ‘hard’ conversations versus hiding the issue behind a computer screen.” Learn more secrets to success from billionaires.

Sharing intimate or sensitive personal information

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Because communication through means of technology is how we converse and spread information the most, it can be hard to halt conversation when something sensitive or private comes up. But, ask yourself: Do you want that paper trail? “Because texts and emails can be forwarded to others, or be sent as Blind Carbon Copies (BCC), anyone in the world can read them!” says Wagner. “Avoid sending anything about new company initiatives, confidential company information, confidential board meeting information, and confidential personal information including credit card numbers (better to call and give the credit card number over the phone).” Find out the all the ways technology is making you stupid.

Apologies of any kind

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Sure, it’s a lot easier to type out the words, “I’m sorry,” than to actually say them out loud, but the former doesn’t hold quite as much meaning than the latter. You might not really mean it—or you might! Without the other person seeing or hearing you, it’s hard to tell. “If you need to apologize to someone for something, it’s not a good time for more misunderstandings and miscommunications to come into play,” says Deb Cheslow, life coach, achievement expert and the author of Unrealogical: Real People, Remarkable Stories of Transformation. “Pick up the phone.” Here are more strategies for crafting the perfect apology.

“We have to talk”

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Sending a cryptic phrase such as this might be harmless to you, who knows exactly what type of conversation needs to be had, but to the person on the other end, it can be frightening. “Simply put, the other person edge as they wait for the shoe to drop,” says David Radin, leadership effectiveness consultant and CEO and co-creator of Confirmed Instant Scheduler. At the very least, it’s respectful to ask the person if they have some time to set aside to have an in-person discussion because there’s something you’d like to share.

Breaking up with a romantic partner

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Breaking up is hard to do no matter how it’s done, but you should avoid communicating this concept via text or email. “Inevitably this happens because the person doing the breaking up doesn’t want to face the rejected one, either because he or she is afraid to hurt them or because they’re trying to avoid a scene,” says April Masini, New York-based relationship and etiquette expert. “Regardless of the reason, if you’ve been dating someone long enough that a break up is warranted, doing it by text is very bad manners. In-person is the way to break up.” Find out the signs it’s time to break up.

Saying “I love you” for the first time

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

Whether you’re a teenager, a 20-something, or part of the 50+ crew, these three words should hold a lot of meaning, and certainly not be shared for the first time using as carefree of a method as a text or email. Additionally, what if the person doesn’t see the message for hours, or even days? How are you going to feel? Or, what if they don’t care to respond with an “I love you too?” Save yourself—and them—the grief of dealing with this scenario by saying those words in person instead. Here are some ways to say “I love you” without words.

Sharing news of death

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

There are plenty of reasons why this topic of conversation should be reserved for in-person. “If at all possible, face-to-face is the best way to share about someone’s death. This allows for needed hugs and heartfelt words of sympathy.” Find out what to say to someone who is grieving.

“I quit”

Things-to-Never-Say-Over-Text-or-EmailNicole Fornabaio/Rd.com

No matter how much you hate your job—or what lead you to decide to quit in the first place—avoid making it official via text or email. “Say it in your head but keep it there and not on any electronic device because it will come back to haunt you,” warns Jacquelyn Youst, certified etiquette consultant and founder and president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Protocol. “A resignation via email may feel good in the heat of the moment, but will have long-term consequences.” Instead, she recommends maintaining your professional demeanor and discussing it with your boss either on the telephone or in person. Read on for real-life stories of people who quit their jobs in the most epic ways.

Aphrodisiacs That Work (If You Think They Do)

Saffron

People looking for sizzle in their love life should try adding this spice to the mix: Cleopatra took baths in waters scented with saffron prior to making love. According to Suzanne C. Fuchs, MD, health and wellness expert/blogger, some research suggests that saffron has antidepressant properties because it supports the metabolism of serotonin—the neurotransmitter important to a good mood. If you’re feeling down, you’re less likely to be interested in sex, right? Dr. Fuchs warns that it’s better to use saffron in foods rather than take it as a supplement. Just be sure to avoid these foods that can kill your sex drive.

Honey

Honey’s romantic nature is undeniable. The only scientific evidence that honey might help is for something called “mad honey” —which is potentially poisonous. So why not focus on honey’s sensual taste and texture? According to Julissa Arangure from Shari’s Berries, honey contains substances like boron which could, in theory, help boost sex hormones. Here are some other natural ways to boost your sex drive, too.

Pinks and oranges

You might be surprised to learn how color perception can influence desire: Lynn Anderson, PhD, author and naturopath, says, “Pink is a soothing color and sets the mood for relaxation. Orange is associated with the sex center (also known as the sacral chakra); it stimulates appetite and reduces fatigue. So if you want to relax your partner and serve them a sexually stimulating dinner, set the table with pink carnations and think pumpkin pie for dessert.”

Figs

They’re loaded with the mineral magnesium, and that’s key, says Dr. Fuchs: “Magnesium is needed to produce sex hormones like androgen and estrogen that have some control over your libido. Amino acids increase the production of nitric oxide, which is important for expanding blood vessels and increasing blood flow everywhere.” Plus, that fleshy, rich flavor makes it an excellent fruit to hand-feed your lover.

Traveling

Here’s your excuse to take a vacation ASAP: A study from Expedia finds that travel can boost sex drive by reducing cortisol levels and improving self-perception. There’s nothing like globetrotting with your sweetie to stir those romantic feelings. (And you can take a dream vacation on the cheap with these tips.)

Exercise

Hit the gym: A 2012 study published in Depression and Anxiety found that women with a dulled libido due to their antidepressant medication (a common side effect) could boost their sexual interest and satisfaction by doing three 30-minute sweat sessions per week. That’s real evidence: The researchers concluded that moderately intense exercise activates the sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which facilitates blood flow to the genital region. Tierney Lorenz, one of the authors who conducted the study, recommends scheduling regular sexual activity and exercise in order to maintain a healthy libido.

Music

To turn up romance, turn on the tunes: After studying images of the brain, researchers at McGill University in Montreal found that listening to music releases the feel-good neurotransmitter, dopamine. A study in the Journal of Research in Music Education suggests music releases serotonin. The only catch is that everyone has different music tastes, so try involving your partner in compiling your lovemaking playlist.

Bananas

Yes, the fruit has a suggestive shape. However, research suggests the most potent banana-related aphrodisiac may come from the smell of banana bread. The scent boosted arousal in women by an average of 12 percent. Is it time to include baking as part of your foreplay? Maybe just stick with these proven ways to improve your sex life instead.

Chocolate

Whether you trust the science or not, chocolate deserves a role as an aphrodisiac. In research, chocolate has been found to enhance affection and boost serotonin and dopamine levels in the brain. According to Dr. Anderson, “The reason for this is that chocolate contains a substance known as phenylethylamine, or PEA. It’s PEA that brings on the amphetamine-like rush of chemistry known as sexual attraction.” Some scientists dismiss chocolate’s powers as more psychological than biological—but isn’t that just like a scientist? After all, your mind is a very erogenous zone, Raquel Welch famously said.

Watermelon

This succulent fruit is loaded with lycopene, a vital antioxidant that helps relax blood vessels and improve circulation to all areas of the body—including your genitals. Dr. Fuchs explains, “Phytonutrients are one of the beneficial components in watermelons that include lycopene and the libido-enhancing citrulline. Citrulline produces nitric oxide, which widens blood vessels. The increase in blood flow helps to decrease blood pressure by a response mechanism. Basically, the blood vessels relax much like the response caused by Viagra.”

Pomegranate juice

This luscious and tart fruit plays a huge role in fertility and libido lore—and recent studies have even found that pomegranate juice can be helpful with erectile dysfunction. Because it’s bursting with antioxidants, drinking a dash of pomegranate juice spritzer could boost virility. Although the price tag of poms comes off a bit hefty, the cost may be worth it for those looking for a break. Don’t miss these other natural aphrodisiac foods proven to spark romance.

Esszone curfew in Sabah extended for another 2 weeks

esszone

MO,2/2/2018, KOTA KINABALU: The 81st phase of the curfew at the Eastern Sabah Safety Zone (Esszone), which ends today, will be extended for another two weeks for phase 82. The new curfew has been enforced from 6pm to 6am until Feb 18. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din said the order was enforced from three nautical miles off Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran.

He reminded the people in these districts to avoid being in the locations identified as a curfew zone. “The need to continue to curfew is to ensure that (our waters) are not intruded by terrorists who can threaten the safety of international researches and tourists on resort islands, who could be kidnapped by terrorist groups from the southern Philippines. “Our intelligence reveals that gangs involved in kidnappings for ransom and Abu Sayyaf militants are still attempting to intrude into our waters to commit crimes.

“We also want to ensure the safety of the people of Sabah who are in our waters and those who are on land near the Esszone,” he said in a statement today. Ramli added that the curfew was needed to facilitate the monitoring of boat activities as well as to establish a sense of security and confidence among nearby chalet owners and fishermen with the presence of a security team. “I have also given the authority to all related district police chiefs to issue permit to applicants who fulfil the criteria to conduct fishing in areas affected by the curfew.”

HANYA ADUN PAS JE YANG JADI “LEMBU” DI SELANGOR!!! ~ SEMUT HITAM

Time Out London letak Singapura destinasi paling bosan ini balasan Singapore Tourism Board

There is nothing exciting to do.”

Sebagai balasan, STB memuat naik video berdurasi 56-saat di laman Facebooknya, dengan dimulakan dengan pengakuan sinikal “Singapore is boring … there is nothing exciting to do.”
