Klinik terbabit kini mengenakan caj sekitar AS$650 untuk lima sesi pertama.

Penstriman Langsung iFlix Menghadapi Masalah Disebabkan Permintaan Yang Tinggi – Amanz

Silent Signs Your Microbiome Could Be In Trouble

You have bad health habits

Your microbiome reveals surprising things about you—and likewise, your habits can also reveal surprising things about your gut health. “The microbiome of your digestive system, or the gut microbiome, contains perhaps 5,000 to 10,000 different species of bacteria that provide essential services of nutrition and protection,” says biochemist Erika Angle, PhD, the CEO and co-founder of Ixcela, the internal fitness company. “The makeup of your gut microbiome is determined by your genes—however, it is the organ that can be most influenced by your actions, for example diet, exercise, and stress management.” One Canadian animal study found those that were less stressed had healthier microbiomes.

You have GI problems

One of the things your bowel movements can reveal about your health is how healthy (or not) your gut microbiome is. Bloating, gas, indigestion, heartburn, diarrhea, and constipation can be caused by your gut flora being off. “These types of digestive issues often indicate a microbial imbalance in the gut,” says Frank Lipman, MD, bestselling author and founder of Be Well and the Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City. “I often remedy this with a combination of diet recommendations, targeted supplements, and lifestyle practices.” Probiotics can also help get you back on track, he says. Studies have shown heartburn meds called proton-pump inhibitors, such as Prilosec, can ironically make gut bacteria less healthy. Here’s what you need to know about probiotics.

You’ve been in a bad mood

If you feel out of it, irritable, or have other mental issues, your microbiome could be to blame, according to the American Psychological Association. “Most neurotransmitters are actually made in the gut, so brain function is often a result of the health of our gut,” Dr. Lipman says. “If there is an imbalance of beneficial and harmful bacteria, it can manifest as problems with mental clarity and memory, along with signs of depression and anxiety.” One study from the UK found people that were given prebiotics, which feeds good gut bacteria, had lower anxiety. Find out other medical reasons that might be the source of your brain fog.

You get infections down there

One of the best ways to prevent yeast infections is to up your probiotic intake. “These types of infections can often be a result of systemic yeast, or fungal overgrowth in the gut,” Dr. Lipman says. This is why you’re more likely to get the nasty infections when you take antibiotics, which kill the good bacteria that help keep yeast in check along with the bad. Too much sugar in your diet can also feed the fungus. “The infections are quite common in our society as we are overexposed to antibiotics, environmental toxins, a diet in refined carbs and sugar, stress, and lack of sleep—the standard American way!” Dr. Lipman says. Check out these other ways to prevent yeast infections.

You have major sugar cravings

Your gut bacteria has been found in studies to actually influence the foods you desire. “Changes in microbiome composition have been shown to send signals to the brain, both direct nervous signals and biochemical signals, resulting in cravings for certain foods,” Dr. Angle says. An unhealthy, sugar-loving microbiome might crave sugar in turn, suggests research from Switzerland. In a vicious circle, “sugar feeds bad bacteria and yeast in the body, and therefore, a diet high in sugar and refined carbs will often lead to an overgrowth of harmful bacteria and yeast, which will compromise gut function,” Dr. Lipman says. He advises limiting sugar in your diet and eating wholesome, nutrient-dense foods such as leafy greens and other veggies, healthy fats, and good quality animal protein.” Here are more surprising ways you can kick your sugar addiction.

You’ve gained weight

Not surprisingly, if you have sugar or other unhealthy cravings, you’ll be more likely to gain weight. But in addition, research has shown that certain bacteria in your gut might make you more predisposed to obesity to begin with. A study in mice even showed that altering gut bacteria made the mice more likely to lose or gain weight. What’s more, “in connection with obesity, low levels of a compound produced only in the gut have been linked to Type 2 diabetes as a risk factor,” Dr. Angle says.

You get sick a lot

A healthy gut microbiome could add years to your life, according to research. The opposite is also true—an unhealthy microbiome could mean you get sick more often. “Seventy percent of the immune system surrounds the gut,” Dr. Lipman says. “So if the microbiome is in an imbalanced state, it will affect and often compromise immune function.” To support your immune system, he advises a good quality probiotic, supplements such as vitamin D, a diet full of antioxidant rich foods, and getting good sleep. Those are just some of the habits of people who never get sick.

You have skin problems

Even the condition of our skin is influenced by our gut microbiome—a Russian study found that over half of acne sufferers in their study had impaired intestinal microflora. In addition, “skin problems such as psoriasis or rosacea have been shown to be related to changes in the relative activity and levels of three different bacterial species,” Dr. Angle says. “Progress in the possible treatment of these conditions has been made by suppressing bacterial overgrowth of one of the species involved.” Or, try these natural supplements that could clear up your acne for good.

You have chronic sinus issues

You have the clear signs you have a sinus infection, but is your gut to blame? A study from the University of California San Francisco found that chronic sinus infections were linked with a lack of bacterial diversity, as well as a lack of certain bacteria, in the sinus microbiome—but the gut microbiome likely influences it as well, according to the study author. “Clearly, the gastrointestinal tract is a prime target for, perhaps, altering immune responses at sites remote from that niche,” study author Susan Lynch told NPR.

You have an autoimmune disease

Because of your gut’s connections to the immune system, autoimmune disease, in which your body attacks itself, has also been linked to an unhealthy microbiome. “Research has indicated that abnormal levels and/or species of gut microbiota are also suspect in causing or contributing to some autoimmune diseases—studies have shown links to Type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and lupus,” Dr. Angle says. “A possible mechanism suggested for MS is that certain species of bacteria produce biochemicals that directly affect the T-cells in the immune system, perhaps triggering demyelination [loss of the insulation around the nerves].” Here’s why millennials need to worry about autoimmune disease.

You have joint pain

Among the secrets pain doctors won’t tell you: Your joint pain may be affected by the type of bacteria living in your gut. “Gut dysbiosis [imbalance] is implicated in the development of chronic inflammatory diseases” that cause joint pain, Dr. Angle says. “Different specific changes in the microbiome have been linked to rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthritis” as well as psoriatic arthritis. “It is not yet clear if these changes are present before the diseases manifest or as a result of the disease,” she says. “However, they make a good case for maintaining optimal gut function as a long-term preventative measure.”

You have a leaky gut

Doctors believe that this chronic inflammation occurs when bacteria penetrate the gut wall, leading to leaky gut syndrome. “Certain species of gut bacteria produce compounds that help maintain the junctions between the cells of the intestinal wall,” Dr. Angle says. “Intestinal permeability, sometimes referred to as ‘leaky gut,’ is a broad term reflecting the loss of some connectivity in the cells of the gut wall, letting through compounds and sometimes organisms that can cause problems in the rest of the body.” Although researchers are still unraveling the cause and effect, there appears to be a connection between leaky gut and other gut problems, including inflammatory bowel disease, which encompasses Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis. Read about the silent signs you have leaky gut syndrome.

You’re allergic to everything

Allergies are on the rise—and you’re likely at risk. One theory behind why so many more of us are prone to allergies and asthma is that our gut microbiomes have been altered in the past couple of generations, likely due to diet changes and antibiotic use, according to the University of Utah. And this increased likelihood of allergies and asthma starts from birth—research from the University of California San Francisco found that specific microbes in babies’ guts predicted a threefold risk in allergies by age 2 and asthma by age 4.

These are the reasons why bacteria is good for you!

5 Heart Disease Risk Factors You Might Not Know

Too little sleep

Sleepingicsnaps/Shutterstock

While you snooze, your body works hard to repair DNA, replenish vitamin levels, and generate antioxidants. When researchers recently followed 15,000 people for 14 years, they found that those with a healthy lifestyle (exercise, nutritious diet, moderate alcohol, no smoking) had a 67 percent lower risk of dying from heart disease. But if they also got seven or more hours of sleep a night, they had an 83 percent lower risk—almost heart attack proof! I advise making sleep a priority; use a cool, dark room without distractions, and have a nightly bedtime.

Too little happiness

sad-womanDMITRII SIMAKOV/Shutterstock

Scientists asked a group of people at risk for heart disease to complete a test that measured well-being, optimism, and life satisfaction. After following the participants for 25 years, the researchers found that the happiest and most optimistic people had one-third the heart disease risk of the others. In the highest-risk patients, a high well-being score reduced the risk of heart disease by half. Optimistic, happy people look forward to the future and tend to prepare with healthier lifestyles. Look out for these signs you’re headed for a heart attack.

Too much air pollution

CarFamily Business/Shutterstock

Chemicals in polluted air may increase inflammation in the body and promote oxidation, the rusting of important organs (like your heart). Scientists in Vancouver, British Columbia, found that increases in traffic pollution and noise were linked with a 6 percent increase in heart disease–related deaths over nearly ten years. When factories in Beijing closed for two months around the 2008 Summer Olympics to improve air quality, citizens experienced better blood pressure and artery health. Steer clear of secondhand smoke, keep a distance from the exhaust of trucks and cars when outside, and avoid situations in which air quality is poor, such as grilling indoors.

Too many heavy metal toxins

ToxinsDuxX/Shutterstock

As many as three-quarters of people have high blood levels of chemicals such as lead, mercury, and cadmium, which may poison enzymes involved in healing. In one study, more than 1,400 heart attack survivors received a weekly infusion of a medicine that removes heavy metals (chelation therapy) or a placebo for 30 weeks. Patients in the first group, especially those with diabetes, experienced fewer heart events. While more research is needed, avoid these compounds by eating organic food, using green cleaning products, and filtering tap water. Eat a diet rich in dark green leafy veggies like kale and collard greens, which help your liver eliminate these poisons. Make sure you know these five types of heart disease and their warning signs.

Too much stress

woman-studyingGaudiLab/Shutterstock

Chronic stress elevates cortisol and adrenaline, which makes blood sugar rise and hardens blood vessels. Look what happens when people get their stress in check: Researchers took 201 people with heart disease and either taught them about heart health or combined that info with instructions on how to meditate. After five years, the meditators had a whopping 50 percent reduction in heart attack, stroke, and death. I encourage my patients to explore slow, easy yoga classes, borrow an instructional DVD, or look up free yoga videos online. Plus, don’t miss these 30 simple ways to reduce your risk of heart disease.

Tunnel project given to 82-day-old firm

penang undersea

MO,3/2/2018, PETALING JAYA: The Penang government has awarded the RM6.34bil Major Roads and Tunnel project to an “82-day-old” company, said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong . The MCA deputy president said this contradicted the state government’s previous claim that the special purpose vehicle (SPV) had a paid-up capital of RM4.5bil. “This shows that the Penang government has misrepresented the shareholders of the Penang Tunnel company since CRCC (China Railway Construction Corporation) and BUCG (Beijing Urban Construction Group) have never been shareholders,” he said in a statement.

Dr Wee said on Nov 14, 2011, through a request for proposal (RFP), that the Penang government had awarded the mega project to the main shareholding company with a paid-up capital of RM300,000. “In fact, at the time of the award, the Penang Tunnel SPV and its main shareholder only had a total combined equity of negative RM6mil as at Aug 31, 2013 – five months after the project was awarded.

“At the time, both companies had auditors expressing concerns over their operations due to its weak financial condition,” he said. He also questioned the rationale of awarding the project to a new company with no track record. “How did they manage to meet the RM381mil minimum paid-up to qualify for the project?” he said. Dr Wee urged the Penang government not to divert the attention but answer the questions raised and reveal the RFP selection papers and minutes of the meetings.

“The person responsible should focus on how the company managed to qualify in terms of technical and financial aspects to show that there is no fraud or interference from any politician,” he said. Yesterday, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and Dr Wee made separate videos targeting each other. Lim said he wanted Dr Wee to apologise for saying the CRCC agreement was not stamped.

Recently, Lim showed the front page of the stamped agreement, but Dr Wee pointed out that the part CRCC signed in that document was just an attached letter of commitment and that CRCC did not contract directly with the Penang state government. Barisan Nasional Strategic Communications deputy director Datuk Eric See-To pointed out that this distinction was important. “With BUCG and CRCC out of the picture as shareholders as well as the actual contracting partner with the state government, this means the Penang government essentially awarded a RM6.34bil project to a newly set-up company with a weak financial condition and no track record,” he said in a statement.

See-To also questioned why the Penang government was so lenient and protective of the SPV. “Since the SPV had never or no longer meets the minimum paid-up capital, does this mean there was misrepresentation and that the RFP should have been pulled back?” he said.

In George Town, Lim said he wanted Dr Wee to clarify his statement that the agreement with Penang Undersea Tunnel engineering, procurement and construction partner CRCC was not stamped. “I challenge him to answer why he said it is not stamped. I have shown that the agreement is stamped,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page yesterday. He stressed that CRCC was legally engaged and had the necessary expertise and finances to see the project through.

The mega project came under the spotlight early last month when the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission arrested several key officials for suspicion of graft. It includes the construction of a 7.2km undersea tunnel connecting Gurney Drive on the island to Bagan Ajam in north Butterworth. There will also be a 10.53km North Coastal Paired Road from Tanjung Bungah to Teluk Bahang, a 5.7km Air Itam-Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway bypass and a 4.075km Gurney Drive-Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway bypass.

Pain Symptoms to Never Ignore

A quick-onset headache

iStock/Wavebreakmedia

If the pain in your head occurred suddenly and is unbearably bad, you could have a brain aneurysm, a bulge in the wall of an artery. Left untreated, the blood vessel could burst, leading to a potentially fatal stroke or massive brain bleed. Call the ambulance immediately.

Tooth pain when you drink something cold

If the enamel (the outside layer of your tooth) is damaged or decaying, it can expose the nerve inside your tooth, leaving you with intolerable pain when the area comes into contact with any cold or hot substances. In addition to the sensitivity, an exposed nerve also puts you at risk for a bacterial infection that can spread to other parts of your body. See your dentist if you start experiencing extreme tooth sensitivity.

Pain through the hand, wrist, and forearm

If a pain or numbing sensation affects your fingers (particularly the thumb, index finger, and middle finger), palm and wrist and spreads to the forearm, you could have carpal tunnel syndrome. Left untreated, the hand muscles may shrink and you may even lose function of your hand. Consult your doctor as soon as possible for treatment options. Make sure you avoid these things you do that only make your pain worse.
