MO,7/4/2018, KUALA LUMPUR: Students, working youths, senior citizens and the disabled will have unlimited monthly access to public transportation costing between RM50 and RM150 a month – this is one of the promises in Barisan Nasional’s election manifesto. It also outlines the future of transportation in the country and plans to upgrade various rail links.
Some 12,500 kilometres of rural roads will also be upgraded for better access to these areas. As a part of the initiative to integrate railway transportation, an electrified railway line will be built from Subang Jaya to the Subang Skypark Terminal.
Other rail links that will be built are the Rapid Transit System (RTS) linking Johor Bahru and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (HSR), East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) from Port Klang to Pengkalan Kubor and the Gemas-Johor Bahru dual-track railway line.
