MO,22/2/2018, KUALA LUMPUR: Grants worth RM830,000 will be channelled to Felcra Bhd’s Women Dynamic Association (Wadira). The Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said the allocation was in line with Wadira’s 2018-2022 Transformation Plan. “With Wadira’s high aspirations and agendas, I was informed that Felcra would provide a total of RM10,000 to each Wadira branch. “I was informed there are 83 Wadira branches throughout Malaysia with 17,540 members comprising staff and participants.
“I applaud Felcra’s actions and congratulate them for emphasising on the formation of entrepreneurial communities among women,” she said at the launch of the 2018 Wadira Convention at the Putra World Trade Centre, today. “I have learned that this convention is the first of its kind to bring together Wadira leaders and members to give exposure and knowledge for them to grow their businesses. “I welcome the convention that emphasises business, entrepreneurship, finance, beauty and spirituality,” she said.
More than 1,500 people attended the two-day convention, a first since Wadira’s establishment in 1979. In the same event, Rosmah was also elected as Felcra’s Wadira Inspirational Icon for her contributions in the development of women and children. Meanwhile, Rosmah urged for a nursery to be established in every Felcra office nationwide.
“I urge Felcra and Wadira to establish a nursery for early childhood education at their work place which would enhance women’s productivity. “Permata will be willing to cooperate with Felcra and Wadira in this effort,” she said.
