Is this Sony’s next-generation PlayStation Move VR controller?

Is this Sony’s next-generation PlayStation Move VR controller?

VR Focus has spotted two patents recently filed by Sony that look like updated versions of its Playstation Move motion controller.

The first patent shows a vertical grip controller with a thumbstick and buttons on top, and a trigger on the other side. It actually looks quite similar to the old Nintendo Wii Nunchuk remote. There’s an interesting bit of text that says that inside the remote, interlocking gears under the ‘grip’ expand and contract to give immersive feedback “capable of imparting a tactile sense to a user”.

The other patent is for tracking a user’s individual finger placement solely using a headset. This would make it work differently than the current PSVR setup, which uses the PlayStation Camera to follow the colored light balls on the Move controllers. This setup could be used with the PlayStation VR headset to let users experience VR gaming without having to hold controllers.

WAN AZIZAH KECEWA PENGIKUT ENGGAN “MOVE ON”!!! ~ SEMUT HITAM

Wrong move to nominate Dr M as PH’s PM nominee

AINA SAADUDIN

MO,8/1/2018, KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) announcement of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its Prime Ministerial nominee has only led to an adverse reaction among the opposition pact’s component members. Former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PBBM) founding member, Anina Saadudin said the announcement on Sunday by PH had only led to internal dissension and disunity with the pact’s four component parties and their members.

“Congratulations Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for being crowned as the interim Prime Minister for Pakatan Harapan “Will a world record be broken, when one of the oldest candidates is likely to led a country, which had not been done by any other opposition. “Better than this is, will Tun (Mahathir) be a PM after overthrowing a previous PM. “Is this a record which Malaysians want to be created ?” she asked in a statement today.

The Empirical Malaysia president also questioned on whether Dr Mahathir was the best candidate that opposition pact had to offer. Better than other leaders such as Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and even the Pakatan Harapan’s chairman’s son Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir. “Condolences also to the opposition, as only a few hours later, the signs of disunity had emerged,” she said.

Anina adds the boycott of the convention by PAN Johor and Perak of the PH convention over disagreement on seat allocation only adds salt to the whole episode. “It looks like a decision which was hoped to provide a positive impact for the opposition to garner the rakyat’s support had been rejected out right by the grassroots themselves.

Anina said PPBM could also afford to put on a smile now for having the largest number of seats. However they need to remember that without the cooperation and understanding of other political parties in the pact, it is impossible for them to move on their own in the face of the upcoming general election, as their election machinery is not as strong as the others.

“Congratulations to Tun M for using the opposition to place Datuk Seri Mukhriz as the future Prime Minister and condolences to the opposition for being used,” she said.

Indias muted response to Trumps Jerusalem move fuels Arab unease

NEW DELHI: A dozen Arab ambassadors have asked India to clarify its position on the U.S recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, diplomatic sources said, after New Delhi’s muted response suggested a shift in support for the Palestinian cause.

U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly reversed decades of U.S. policy this month when he recognised Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, generating outrage from Palestinians. Trump also plans to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

Countries around the world, including U.S. allies Britain and France, criticised Trump’s decision, but India did not take sides.

Instead, the Indian foreign ministry in a brief statement, said India’s position was consistent and independent of any third party.

The bland statement made no reference to Jerusalem and prompted criticism at home that it was insufficient, vague and anti-Palestinian.

Israel maintains that all of Jerusalem is its capital. Palestinians want East Jerusalem as the capital of a future independent state and say Trump’s move has left them marginalised and jeopardised any hopes of a two-state solution.

Last week, envoys from Arab states including Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait based in New Delhi met Indian junior foreign minister M.J. Akbar to brief the government about an Arab League meeting on Dec 9 condemning the U.S. decision, a diplomatic and an Indian government source said.

The envoys also sought a more forthright Indian response, the sources said.

But Akbar gave no assurance and the Indian source said the government had no plans for a further articulation on Jerusalem, which is at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“Akbar did not promise anything,” the diplomatic source briefed on the meeting said, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of diplomatic sensitivities.

India was one of the earliest and vocal champions of the Palestinian cause during the days it was leading the Non-Aligned Movement while it quietly pursued ties with Israel.

But under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, New Delhi has moved to a more open relationship with Israel, lifting the curtain on thriving military ties and also homeland security cooperation.

Modi’s Hindu nationalist ruling group views Israel and India as bound together in a common fight against Islamist militancy and long called for a public embrace of Israel.

Modi in July made a first trip to Israel by an Indian prime minister and did not go to Ramallah, the headquarters of the Palestinian Authority and a customary stop for leaders trying to maintain a balance in political ties.

P.R. Kumaraswamy, a leading Indian expert on ties with Israel at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University, said a “major shift” on India’s policy had been evident since early this year when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas visited New Delhi.

“With the Palestinian president standing by his side, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s support for Palestinian statehood but carefully avoided any direct reference to East Jerusalem,” he said.

For decades, India’s support for a Palestinian state was accompanied by an explicit reference to East Jerusalem being the Palestinian capital. But Delhi has moved to a more balanced position, refusing to take sides in an explosive dispute, he said.

During the meeting last week, the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Somalia and the Palestinian Authority spoke, the diplomatic source said. Besides the dozen envoys there were charges d’affaires from several other countries in the region.

“They were expecting more from India, perhaps to denounce Israel and the U.S.” said former Indian ambassador to Jordan and Anil Trigunayat. “But would it really make a difference, adding one more voice?”

Canada will not move embassy to Jerusalem

OTTAWA: Canadian government would not move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem and will keep it in Tel Aviv.

Jordan’s Petra news agency reported that Canada still does not recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city.

Canada’s long-standing position is that the status of Jerusalem can be resolved only as part of a general settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli dispute.

This has been the policy of consecutive governments, both Liberal and Conservative,” press secretary of the Ministry of Canada’s Foreign Affairs Adam Austen said in a statement late Tuesday.

“We are strongly committed to the goal of a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, including the creation of a Palestinian state living side-by-side in peace and security with Israel,” Austen added.

The Canadian newspaper, Globe and Mail reported that the Canadian government stressed it would not transfer to Jerusalem amid reports US President Donald Trump would relocate the American embassy to the holy city of Jerusalem and recognise it as the country’s capital.

The move risks fueling violence in the Middle East and breaks with decades of US foreign policy that Jerusalem’s status must be determined in negotiation with the Palestinians, who wants to make East Jerusalem the capital of their future state, the newspaper noted.

It also confirmed that the international community, including Canada, does not recognise Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem, which Israel captured in the 1967.
