“There is no scientific basis for the notion that individuals use one hemisphere of the brain more than the other for cognitive functions,” says Rawan Tarawneh, MD, a neurologist at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Selain lauk ayam, masakan seperti telur ikan dan sotong semestinya buat kita kecur liur. Namun, harga yang agak mahal kadang-kala membuatkan kita tengok sahaja. Tapi jangan risau sebab anda pun boleh hasilkan menu-menu ni secara homemade. Tak susah mana pun. Jom lihat resipi & bahan-bahan yang diperlukan.

 

1. SOTONG MASALA  

 

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 500gm sotong putih |bersihkan dan direbus sehingga ¾ masak
  • 2 kuntum bunga lawang
  • 1 batang kulit kayu manis
  • 3 kuntum bunga cengkih
  • 2 biji buah pelaga
  • 1 labu bawang besar |dihiris
  • 2 biji cili merah |dipotong memanjang
  • 2 sudu teh halia kisar
  • 1sudu teh bawang putih kisar
  • 1 tangkai daun kari
  • 1 labu bawang merah (dikisar)
  • 2 1/2 sudu makan serbuk kari daging
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk jintan putih
  • 1sudu teh serbuk jintan manis
  • 1sudu teh serbuk cili
  • 50gm santan pekat
  • 1 cawan air rebusan sotong
  • 3 sudu makan minyak masak
  • ½ sudu teh gula
  • Garam secukupnya

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Panaskan minyak masak di dalam kuali. Masukkan bunga lawang, kulit kayu manis, buah pelaga dan bunga cengkih. Selepas satu minit, masukkan bawang besar  dan cili merah. Tumis sehingga bawang bertukar warna.
  2. Masukkan bawang putih kisar, halia kisar dan daun kari. Apabila bau harum, masukkan bawang kisar. Kacau sekata.
  3. Bila mendidih, masukkan serbuk kari daging, serbuk jintan putih, serbuk jintan manis dan serbuk cili.
  4. Tuang air rebusan sotong dan kacau rata. Masak sehingga kuah menjadi pekat sedikit.
  5. Masukkan santan dan tunggu sehingga mendidih.
  6. Masukkan sotong dan kacau rata selama empat minit.
  7. Masukkan gula dan garam secukup rasa. Tutup api. Sedia dihidangkan.

Info chef: Sotong boleh juga dipotong kecil, mengikut kesukaan masing-masing.

 

2. AYAM MADU MAMAK

BAHAN- BAHAN PERAPAN AYAM:

  • 1kg ayam |dipotong dan dibersihkan
  • 1sudu teh serbuk kunyit
  • ½ sudu teh garam
  • 1 cawan  minyak masak (untuk goreng ayam)

BAHAN LAIN:

  • 3 sudu makan minyak masak
  • 2 kuntum bunga lawang
  • 1 batang kulit kayu manis
  • 3 kuntum bunga cengkih
  • 2 biji buah pelaga
  • 1 labu bawang besar |dihiris
  • 1 tangkai daun kari
  • 1sudu teh bawang merah kisar
  • 2 sudu teh halia kisar
  • 1sudu teh bawang putih kisar
  • 1 labu bawang besar |dikisar
  •  ½  sudu makan serbuk kulit kayu manis
  • ½  sudu makan serbuk jintan putih
  • 1 sudu makan serbuk cili
  • 200gm buah kurma |dibuang biji
  • ½ cawan air
  • 3 sudu makan madu

BAHAN UNTUK MENGGORENG GAJUS DAN KISMIS:

  • 50gm kacang gajus
  • 10gm buah kismis
  • 1 sudu teh minyak sapi

CARA MEMASAK:

  1.  Perap ayam bersama serbuk kunyit dan garam selama 30 minit.
  2.  Kemudian goreng ayam sehingga 1/2 masak. Ketepikan.
  3. Setelah itu, panaskan minyak masak di dalam kuali. Masukkan bunga lawang, kulit kayu manis, buah pelaga dan bunga cengkih. Selepas satu minit, masukkan bawang merah dan daun kari. Tumis sehingga bawang bertukar warna.
  4. Masukkan bawang putih kisar, halia kisar dan bawang kisar. Kacau rata selama dua minit.
  5. Masukkan serbuk jintan putih, serbuk kulit kayu manis dan serbuk cili. Kacau rata.
  6. Kisar buah kurma bersama ½ cawan air. Tuang bahan kisar tersebut ke dalam kuali dan gaul rata. Masak seketika. Sekiranya kuah pekat, tambah air secukupnya.
  7. Masukkan ayam dan perasakan dengan garam secukupnya. Biarkan mendidih dan ayam masak sepenuhnya. Ketepikan.
  8. Di dalam kuali lain, masukkan minyak sapi dan goreng gajus bersama buah kismis menggunakan api perlahan. Tutup api.
  9. Tuang ke dalam kuah ayam dan kacau. Masukkan madu dan tutup api.
  10. Sedia dihidangkan bersama nasi panas.

Info chef: Tidak perlu tambah gula kerana hidangan sudah ada madu dan kurma yang memberikan rasa manis pada masakan.

Masakan Thai cukup terkenal hampir di seluruh dunia. Bahkan masakan ini juga cukup dekat dengan masyarakat di Malaysia. Hidangan Thai yang kebiasaannya mengandungi rasa masam, masin dan pedas sentiasa menjadi pilihan ramai penduduk Malaysia. Kali ini RASA kongsikan 6 jenis masakan Thai berasaskan ayam yang boleh anda cuba.

 

1. AYAM SOS THAI

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 1/2 ekor ayam | potong 6-8 ketul
  • 2 sudu teh tepung jagung
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk pati ayam
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk lada hitam
  • 8 sudu makan sos Thai
  • 2 batang serai | titik
  • 2 biji bawang besar | hiris
  • 4 biji bawang putih | hiris
  • 3cm halia | hiris halus
  • 1/2 biji cili Benggala hijau | hiris
  • 1/2 biji cili Benggala merah | hiris
  • 1/2 batang lobak merah | hiris
  • 3 biji cili padi hijau |hiris halus
  • 1 tangkai cili merah | hiris halus
  • 2 sudu teh sos ikan
  • 60ml air
  • Minyak masak secukupnya
  • Daun ketumbar untuk hiasan

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Di dalam mangkuk, satukan ayam bersama tepung jagung, serbuk pati ayam, dan serbuk lada hitam. Gaul sebati.  Ketepikan.
  2. Panaskan minyak untuk menggoreng ayam.  Gorengkan ayam sehingga warna perang keemasan, angkat, tos dan ketepikan.
  3. Salin minyak di dalam kuali dan tinggalkan sedikit sahaja untuk menumis. Setelah itu tumiskan bawang besar, bawang putih, halia, dan serai sehingga wangi. Dikuti dengan lobak merah, cili padi dan cili merah.
  4. Kemudian masukkan sos cili Thai, sos ikan dan air secukupnya. Kacau sebentar hingga kuah mereneh.
  5. Setelah itu masukkan cili Benggala hijau dan merah. Apabila cili Benggala telah agak layu sedikit masukkan ayam tadi kacau dan tutupkan api.  Siap untuk dihidangkan. Hiaslah dengan daun ketumbar yang dipotong agak kasarjika suka.

Info chef: Jumlah air bergantung sama ada anda ingin lebih berkuah atau agak kering.

 

2. GULAI AYAM SIAM

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 1/2 ekor ayam | potong 6-8 ketul
  • 250ml santan pekat
  • 250ml air
  • 6 biji terung kampung | belah dua
  • 1 biji bawang besar | kisar
  • 4 biji bawang putih | kisar
  • 3cm lengkuas | hiris dan kisar
  • 3cm kunyit | hiris dan kisar
  • 6 tangkai cili padi hijau | kisar
  • 2 batang serai | hiris halus dan kisar
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk jintan manis
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk lada hitam
  • 2 helai daun limau purut | carik
  • Minyak masak secukupnya

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Tumis semua bahan iaitu bawang besar, bawang putih, halia, lengkuas, kunyit, cili padi hijau, serai, daun limau purut, serbuk jintan manis dan serbuk lada hitam hingga wangi dan pecah minyak.
  2. Kemudian masukkan ayam dan air secukupnya, kacau sebentar dan biarkan sehingga kuah mereneh dan ayam agak empuk dan masak.
  3. Setelah ayam agak empuk,masukkan terung kampung dan akhir sekali santan pekat.  Masaklah sehingga kuah agak memekat kemudian tutupkan api.  Siap untuk dihidangkan.

Info Chef –  Terung kampung boleh digantikan dengan terung pipit.

 

3. SALAD AYAM THAI

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 2 ketul isi dada ayam
  • 1 sudu teh sos ikan
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk lada hitam
  • 2 sudu teh sos Thai
  • 300gm daun kubis | hiris halus
  • 2 batang lobak merah | hiris halus
  • 1 batang timun | hiris halus
  • 3 batang daun bawang | potong 3cm panjang
  • 250gm kacang tanah goreng
  • 1 biji cili merah | potong halus
  • 4 biji cili padi |potong halus
  • 1 biji cili Benggala hijau |hiris memanjang
  • 1 biji cili Benggala merah |hiris memanjang
  • 2 tangkai daun pudina
  • 2 pokok daun ketumbar |potong kasar
  • Minyak masak secukupnya

 

BAHAN UNTUK SOS SALAD:

  • 2 sudu teh minyak bijan
  • 1 sudu makan mentega kacang
  • 3 sudu teh sos ikan atau secukup rasa
  • 1 biji limau nipis | ambil jusnya
  • 3 sudu teh cuka
  • 4 sudu teh gula pasir
  • 4 biji bawang putih | cincang
  • 2 sudu makan air masak

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Di dalam mangkuk, satukan dada ayam bersama sos ikan, serbuk lada hitam dan sos Thai. Perap selama 30 minit.  Setelah itu goreng dada ayam di dalam kuali angkat dan hiris agak nipis.  Ketepikan.
  2. Di dalam mangkuk salad ,satukan semua bahan yang telah dihiris dan dipotong halus tadi. Masukkan ayam dan gaul sebati.
  3. Untuk membuatkan sosnya; masukkan kesemua bahan sos ke dalam bekas plastik kedap udara dan goncang sehingga kesemua bahan sebati.  Apabila saat untuk menghidang, tuangkan sos ke dalam salad tadi dan gaul sebati. Siap untuk dihidangkan.

Info Chef –  Sos salad jangan diletakkan terlalu awal agar dapat mengekalkan kerangupan sayuran salad tersebut.

 

4. COCONUT LIME CHICKEN

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • ½ ekor ayam | potong kecil
  • 125ml santan pekat
  • 125ml air
  • 4 tangkai kacang panjang | potong 3cm panjang
  • 6 tangkai cili padi hijau | hiris
  • 2 helai daun limau purut | hiris halus
  • 1 biji bawang besar | hiris
  • 4 biji bawang putih | hiris
  • 1 sudu makan sos ikan atau secukup rasa
  • 1 biji jus limau nipis
  • 1 sudu teh gula tau secukup rasa
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk pati ayam
  • 2 batang daun ketumbar | hiris kasar
  • Minyak masak secukupnya
  • 1 tangkai cili merah | hiasan
  • 1 batang daun bawang | hiasan

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Panaskan minyak di dalam kuali, tumiskan hirisan bawang besar dan bawang putih hingga terbit bau wangi.
  2. Kemudian masukkan isi ayam, daun limau purut, sos ikan,jus limau nipis, gula, serbuk pati ayam, santan pekat dan air, kacau sebentar.  Masaklah sehingga kuah mereneh dan agak pekat.
  3. Kemudian masukkan hirisan kacang panjang dan daun ketumbar. Masaklah selama lebih kurang 5 minit, kemudian tutupkan api. Siap untuk dihidangkan.

Info chef: Hiaslah dengan hirisan cili merah dan daun bawang.

 

5. AYAM PANDAN

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 1/2 ekor ayam | potong  6-8 ketul
  • 4 biji bawang putih | kisar halus
  • 1 biji bawang besar | kisar halus
  • 3cm halia | kisar halus
  • 3cm lengkuas | kisar halus
  • 6 tangkai cili padi | kisar halus
  • 2 batang serai dihiris halus | kisar halus
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk kunyit
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk ketumbar
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk jintan manis
  • 1 sudu teh serbuk pati ayam
  • Garam secukup rasa
  • Gula secukup rasa
  • Daun pandan secukupnya
  • Minyak masak  untuk menggoreng

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Gaulkan ayam bersama kesemua bahan kisar, serbuk ketumbar, serbuk jintan manis, serbuk kunuit, serbuk pati ayam, garam dan gula. Perap semalaman bagi mendapatkan rasa yang lebih enak.
  2. Setelah itu bungkuslah ayam tersebut dengan daun pandan seperti membungkus ketupat palas.  Goreng di dalam minyak yang banyak dengan api yang agak sederhana besar agar ayam masak sekata. Ayam pandan siap untuk dihidangkan.

Info chef: Jika hendak cepat, ayam bolehlah diperap selama dua jam.

 

6. AYAM GAJUS

 

BAHAN-BAHAN:

  • 3 keping dada ayam | potong kecil
  • 2 sudu makan tepung jagung
  • 2 sudu teh minyak bijan
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk lada sulah
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk pati ayam
  • 8 tangkai cili kering | potong 3cm panjang
  • 3cm halia | cincang halus
  • 1biji bawang besar | hiris
  • 6 biji bawang putih | cincang
  • 2 sudu teh sos tiram atau secukup rasa
  • 2 sudu teh kicap pekat manis
  • 1/2 sudu teh serbuk lada hitam
  • 80gm kacang gajus
  • Daun bawang secukupnya
  • Lobak merah | Hiris bulat
  • Minyak masak  secukupnya

 

CARA MEMASAK:

  1. Di dalam mangkuk, satukan ayam bersama minyak bijan, tepung jagung dan lada sulah. Perap sebentar.
  2. Panaskan minyak di dalam kuali, gorengkan isi ayam yang telah diperapkan tadi sehingga warna keemasan angkat dan ketepikan.
  3. Keluarkan minyak di dalam kuali tinggalkan sedikit untuk menumis,   anggaran tiga sudu makan. Kemudian gorengkan cili kering sehingga garing dan angkat.
  4. Selepas itu tumiskan hirisan bawang besar, bawang putih dan halia sehingga wangi.  Setelah itu masukkan  lobak merah, sos tiram, kicap pekat manis, serbuk lada hitam dan kacau sebentar.  Akhir sekali masukkan isi ayam, daun bawang dan gajus, kacau serta tutupkan api.
  5. Ayam gajus sedia untuk dihidangkan.

“Memang kita bagi dia sedikit kebebasan, tapi dalam masa sama kita juga bertindak sebagai penapis.

“Selain buat tapisan, kita juga bagi bimbingan kenapa kita perlu buat macam itu. Kita mahu dia faham apa yang ‘do’ and ‘don’t’.

“Kalau kita larang, dia akan memberontak dan cari alternatif lain. Ia lebih membahayakan, jadi lebih baik kita beri saja apa dia mahu tapi dengan cara yang betul,” katanya pada Sinar Harian ketika ditemui selepas pelancaran program realiti, Oh My Family.

Bukan itu sahaja, pelakon filem XX Ray ini juga meletakkan had tertentu dalam penggunaan telefon bimbit.

“Untuk setiap aktiviti dia, ada mula dan akhirnya supaya dia tahu menghormati dan menghargai masa.

“Kita juga jangan amalkan budaya ‘merampas’ kerana secara tak langsung kita bersetuju dengan tindakan tersebut.

“Contohnya, katalah kita bagi dia tengok YouTube, dan tiba-tiba kita mahu ambil telefon tersebut. Kita jangan rampas sebaliknya bagi dia masa dan dia sendiri akan memulangkannya,” katanya.

Puteri Nur Azzahra atau lebih mesra disapa Ara Aziz semakin mendapat perhatian apabila popular menerusi video tutorial solekan yang dimuat naik di Instagram (IG).

Kini, kanak-kanak berusia tujuh tahun itu memiliki lebih 123,000 pengikut mengalahkan bapanya, Aziz yang hanya mempunyai lebih 43,000 pengikut di laman sosial itu.

Malah, Ara juga mempunyai peminatnya tersendiri.

Ara merupakan anak hasil perkongsian hidup Aziz dengan Puteri Lily Lokman yang dikahwininya pada 2010.

Selain itu, Aziz turut dikurniakan enam cahaya mata menerusi tiga perkahwinan sebelum ini.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Aziz dan Ara juga bakal menjayakan program terbaharu, Oh My Family!

Selain keluarganya, program ini turut menampilkan gelagat anak-anak Datuk Fazley Yaakob, Datuk Aaron Aziz, Azad Jazmin dan Rita Rudaini.

Ia bakal bersiaran di saluran Astro Ria (104), Astro Ria HD (123) dan Astro Ceria (611) pada setiap Rabu, jam 9 malam bermula 11 April depan.

Secret Dangers of Popular Gym Machines

Going to the gym feels like a virtuous and healthy act: You’re taking care of your muscles and lungs, burning calories, and protecting your heart—as long as you’re careful. You might be shocked to discover gym-related injuries increased by a third in recent years, according to research from the University of Arkansas. The dangers hit the headlines when Survey Monkey CEO Dave Goldberg fell off a treadmill and ended up with a fatal head injury.

Treadmills are the most dangerous gym machine—they account for 35 percent of workout-related emergency room visits. Stay safe: If you’re not a seasoned runner, begin slow and only add speed when you’re comfortable and confident. “Picking an unrealistic speed can result in injury because you don’t have the strength or efficiency in your cadence to maintain those speeds,” says Emily Hutchins, owner of On Your Mark, Nike Master Trainer and coach on the Sweatworking. Stay safe by listening to your stride, explains sports coach Olivier Vancassel, a specialist in biomechanics, ultra-endurance running, and the manager at Six Senses Spas at Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay. If you’re really pounding the belt, you’re putting too much pressure on your legs, he warns.

Here are more common treadmill workout mistakes.

Bench press

Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger, the founder of Elements Fitness, believes that pumping big weights on the bench is only appropriate if you have plenty of experience lifting. She strongly recommends learning proper form, lifting an amount you’re comfortable with, and working with a partner. People most often injure their wrist (sprains or fractures) and shoulders (rotator cuff tears). Your chest—the sternum and ribcage—and neck are also vulnerable.

Jump rope

They’re cheap, portable, and you can use them to raise your heart rate and work up a sweat very quickly. In fact, they’re one of the workouts that burn more calories than running. But this device from your childhood can pack a wallop if you’re not careful: “Accidents often happen because a rope is too long,” says Hunsberger. Get some instruction on sizing the rope, she says, and take note of those around you. “Jump rope injuries include lacerations or whips to the skin from the rope or, even worse, black eyes and broken noses from the plastic handles.”

 

Kettlebells

Swinging a kettlebell might look like a nice change of pace—but once you get that weight moving it can be hard to stop it. Hutchins stresses that kettlebells are meant to be taught by trained professionals, so sign up for a class. Also: “If your instructor doesn’t have a specific certification for this, you probably should reconsider—popular kettlebell drills are associated with speed and force and if not taught in proper progressions, these drills will lead to injury,” she says.

Heavy bags

“Boxing on a heavy bag can be one of the best forms of cardio, conditioning, and resistance training,” says Courtney Belcastro, a trainer at Title Boxing Club and SHRED415, and coach on the SweatWorking. “However, hitting the bag with poor form can put you at risk for many types of injuries.” She winces when she sees a gym-goer walk up to the bag and start punching it as hard as they can. “This is dangerous and can put you at risk to injure your hands, shoulders, upper back, neck, and even pull muscles in your core. Hands need to be properly wrapped with tape or boxing wraps, and make sure you are wearing at least 12-oz to 14-oz gloves to ensure that they have enough padding for you as you hit the bag.”

Bosu Ball

It may look innocuous, but the Bosu hides some nasty surprises. While the half-ball can help build core strength and stability, it isn’t the best method for healthy people, according to Rob Sulaver, founding trainer at Rumble Boxing and founder of Bandana Training. “Doing squats on a Bosu ball can be helpful if you’re recovering from an injury,” he says. Otherwise, the challenge of trying to balance can prevent you from benefiting from the exercise, he says.

Some fitness instructors think the Bosu is a waste of time—along with these other fitness moves.

Indoor bikes

A poor bike fit can result in improper pedaling technique, warns Hutchins. That can harm your knees, hips, shoulders, and even elbows, warns Hutchins. Always ask a trainer to help you adjust the saddle height and distance between saddle and handlebars if you’re unsure.

Adductor machine

This is the machine that works the inner thighs and groin (adductor muscles) if you put the pads inside your knees. (It builds your outer thighs and glutes—abductors—if the pads are outside your knees.) Some of these muscles are more delicate than others: “There are certain areas I strongly recommend not working in isolation, like adductors,” says Vancassel. “Don’t torture them on a machine! A lack of control in the movement combined with a heavy load can have a ‘spring’ effect, which can cause injury and a shortening of muscle fibers.” Instead, he suggests, doing sumo squats, lunges, and other exercises with or without additional weight to build strength in the adductor region while mitigating your injury risk.

Ab crunch machine

Overuse is the issue with this exercise, says Kamraan Husain, DO, a certified chiropractor who specializes in the biomechanics of athletes for both pain management and performance. “Repeatedly contracting the abdominals can fatigue our spinal muscles and cause injury,” says Dr. Husain. Try these workouts for killer abs instead.

Seated leg press

While this machine is a fantastic way to build stability and power in your legs, there are two common mistakes people make: They hyperextend—lock—their knees, and they use too much weight. “With a leg press, the lower back is at risk when you overload the weight,” says Rumble Boxing trainer Kory Flores. “Locking the knees is another common mistake that puts stress on joints instead of muscles. Make sure your knees stay in line with your toes, push your weight through your heels, and use a semi-challenging weight.” And remember, you can always work your legs without using gym equipment!

 

Back extension machine

Locking in your legs, hinging at the waist, and letting gravity take over as you lower your upper body can be a recipe for disaster. “The back extension machine is a great exercise to restore extension within our spinal column,” says Dr. Husain, “however it is often butchered due to the lack of control and coordination.” To stay safe, he recommends ‘squeezing’ your glutes and pushing your shoulder blades “back and down” as you lower forward.

And be sure to watch for signs that your upper back is in serious trouble.

Knee extension machine

Sure, you can get nice looking quads with this “leg curl,” but there’s no real-world benefit, Dr. Husain says. Worse, the weight-plus-repetition of the move puts stress on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and cartilage in the knee, he warns. If you like using the machine, make sure you sit back against the seat pad and extend your legs in a controlled manner—don’t swing the weights to use momentum for the lift: You’ll strain your knee.

This machine is particularly popular with men as it helps define the chest muscles. “Done properly it’s an extremely effective apparatus, but many users don’t adjust the machine properly to line up the handles with their chest muscles,” says Doug McQuery, who runs digital product and business development at Physique 57. “Additionally, when combined with too much resistance, it’s easy to overwork the shoulders and there’s potential for strains or impingements.”

The problem that McQuery often sees is that people put too much weight and pull the machine by arching their backs and tilting their hips. “This can cause both back and hamstring injuries.” He stresses that it’s very important to maintain alignment to maximize the benefits of the movements and also to improve overall posture. Rowing machine

Rowing machine-based classes are a growing trend since they combine cardio with strength training. Unfortunately, if you don’t use the machine properly, your lower back will pay the price. “Proper form on the rowing machine requires one to use his/her legs, core, and arms—in exactly that sequence,” says celebrity trainer and fitness specialist Mohamed Elzomor. “Make sure you’re using your legs to push you through the movement, and not your lower back.”

Instagram might make it tempting to try squatting on one of these, but don’t: “When it comes to stupid training, this is like a Bosu squat x 1000,” says Sulaver. “It’s a cool party trick, but it does nothing to make you a better athlete.” Sulaver has a better plan: “You know what will make you a better athlete? If you plant both feet on the ground and do some heavy squats. That’s a great idea.”

This piece of equipment offers a variety of exercises and resistance options—but this can be risky, as well. “There are several knobs and levers that adjust the placement of the handles,” says Rumble Boxing trainer Christina Jensen. “If you’re not careful, you can pinch your fingers or hands; plus the lever can fall on your hand or head. This has happened to me several times, leaving me with blood blisters and contusions.” Be very conscious of all your movements when operating a standing cable tower.

Popular at Cross-Fit gyms, the jumps to get up and off the box can be hard on your ankles, knees, and hips. Focus on landing softly—and pay close attention: “I was practicing a simple 12-inch jump and skinned my shin on the front of the box,” says Jensen. “I’ve seen friends do this to a point where they have ended up in the ER. Never get lazy with technique or try something hard when you’re tired.”

This targets the chest, shoulders, and triceps, but McQuery notes that many people don’t properly calibrate the machine for their height, they set the resistance too high, and they use improper form. “Misusing this machine has the potential to cause shoulder and neck issues.” Walk away from the device and try pushups instead, he says. Keep your body aligned as you lower and rise, and you’ll challenge your entire body (just like this workout).

Hawaii lokasi bulan madu paling popular pada 2017



SEOUL: Hawaii merupakan destinasi paling popular untuk berbulan madu tahun lepas, diikuti pulau peranginan Phuket di Thailand, lapor agensi berita Yonhap pada Isnin memetik kenyataan agensi pelancongan terbesar di Korea Selatan.

Menurut Hana Tour, kira-kira 18.6 peratus daripada sejumlah 19,000 pasangan berbulan madu yang membeli pakej pelancongan yang ditawarkannya tahun lepas memilih pusat peranginan di Amerika Syarikat itu sebagai destinasi.

Hana Tour berkata populariti Hawaii terletak pada hakikat bahawa pasangan yang baharu berkahwin mempunyai banyak lokasi pilihan untuk bersiar-siar, membeli-belah dan melakukan sukan akuatik di Honolulu, Oahu serta beberapa pulau lain.

Phuket berada di tangga kedua dengan 15.3 peratus diikuti Guam dan Bali, kedua-duanya sebanyak 10.7 peratus. 

Destinasi lain yang digemari ialah barat Eropah iaitu sebanyak 10.3 peratus, Maldives (6.9 peratus), Koh Samui, Thailand (5.4) dan Cancun, Mexico (5.1).

Interpark Tour, satu lagi agensi pelancongan terkenal, turut menyatakan bahawa Hawaii adalah lokasi berbulan madu paling popular tahun lepas diikuti Phuket, Maldives, Bali, Cancun dan Danang di Vietnam.
